Microsoft SQL Server to Amazon Aurora (MySQL)

Now that you have completed setting up the workshop enviornment, you are ready to migrate a sample data base.

This step-by-step guide demonstrates how you can use AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and AWS Schema Conversion Tool (AWS SCT) to migrate data from Microsoft SQL Server to Amazon Aurora (MySQL). Additionally, you will use AWS DMS to continually replicate database changes from the source database to the target database.

The environment for this lab consists of:

  • A Microsoft SQL Server running on an EC2 instance as the source database. This server is also used to run the AWS Schema Conversion Tool.
  • An Amazon Aurora (MySQL) instance used as the target database.
